Yancey, Lena Catherine Lyndaker, 94, of Beaver Falls, NY died June 11, 2019 at Lowville, Lewis Co., NY. She was born April 7, 1925 at Belfort, Lewis Co., NY to Paul and Catherine (Yousey) Lyndaker. On December 12, 1946 at Croghan, Lewis Co., NY she was married to Gerald Milton Yancey, who was born December 3, 1919 and died October 20, 2009.
Surviving are children, Jerry M. and Nancy Wherley of LaGrande, OR; Dean R. and Wanda Macedo Yancey of Lowville, NY; Dr. Samuel P. Yancey of Croghan, NY; Violet and Michael J. Colwell of Glenfield, NY; Merle G. and Donna Bills Yancey of Lowville, NY; Orson P. Yancey of New Market, NH; Annette Halko and companion Paul Brown of Naumburg, NY; and Paula and Nathan Zehr of Webster, NY; 18 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; and siblings Kenneth (Deb) Lyndaker of Watson, NY; Gladys Schweitzer of Big Bear, CA; Alta Noftsier of Lowville, NY; Catherine (Rexford) Dannan of Salisbury Center, NY; Dorothy (Elmer) Zehr of Lowville, NY; Helen (Loren) Unruh of Kansas; and Paul Lyndaker and his companion Joan of Castorland, NY; sisters-in-law Phyllis Lyndaker of Lowville, NY; and Fern Lyndaker of Turin, NY.
A daughter, Juanita Rose Yancey, age 7 in 1962; brothers, Christian Lyndaker, David Lyndaker, Norman Lyndaker, and Howard Lyndaker; brothers-in-law Jerry Schweitzer and Judson Noftsier; and sisters-in-law Lillian Lyndaker and Gail Lyndaker preceded her in death.
Memorial services were held June 18, 2019 at Lowville Mennonite Church, Lowville, NY with burial in Croghan Mennonite Church Cemetery, Croghan, NY.
Yocum, Mary Francis Zimmerman
February 27, 1923-March 17, 2019
Mary Francis Yocum (Zimmerman), 96, of Akron, passed away on the 17th of March at Ephrata Manor in Lancaster County after a long and fruitful life. She was born in Earl Township, Lancaster County, to Milton B. and Florence (Jackson) Zimmerman on 27 February 1923 and was one of thirteen siblings.
After mission work in Kentucky and Bible study in Virginia, Mary earned a degree in nursing and, for many years, worked as a registered nurse at Hahnemann Hospital and Chestnut Hill Lodge in Philadelphia. Valued by many colleagues for her calm discrete professionalism, she will be deeply missed by her nursing friends. In a long life of church involvement, she was a faithful member of Norris Square Mennonite Church, Philadelphia; Frazer Mennonite Church, Malvern; Providence Mennonite Church, Collegeville; and Hinkletown Mennonite Church.
Married to Frederick L. Yocum for over fifty years, Mary was the anchor of the family with six children, twelve grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. Gracious and kind, she marked all of the birthdays, graduations and other special moments. Her attention and interest in our lives is a testament of her spirit. She will be missed immensely. She enjoyed camping, travel, board games, sewing and meeting up with her nursing colleagues and extended family. In 2001, Fred and Mary moved from Philadelphia to Lancaster County and lived in Akron.
Mary is survived by 4 siblings, Ruth Eckert, Carl, Earl, and Kenneth Zimmerman; three daughters, two sons, twelve grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Fred, her daughter Jane Aquaviva and 8 siblings, John Zimmerman, Laura Stauffer, Erma Birky, Amos, Addy, Roy, Clyde and Arline Zimmerman.
Friends and relatives are invited to attend her Life Celebration on Saturday, the 23rd of March at Hinkletown Mennonite Church, 2031 Division Highway Ephrata PA.; viewing from 9:30 to 10:30 am, Memorial service at 10:30 am, committal and fellowship time following.
Yoder, Alice Derstine Hackman, 78, of Harleysville died February 6, 2019 at Quakertown, Bucks Co., PA. She was born May 21, 1940 at Franconia, Montgomery Co., PA to Clayton and Sarah (Gehman) Derstine. On April 24, 1993 she was married to Carl D. Yoder, who was born September 21, 1928 and died December 4, 2015.
Surviving are children, Connie Bean, husband David; Lisa Edenfield, husband Brad; and James Hackman, wife Laurie; ten
grandchildren, and siblings, Herman Derstine, Marie Reinford, Jane Derstine, Jean Derstine, and Eileen Schmidt.
Her first husband, James N. Hackman, two brothers, Roy Derstine and Henry Derstine, and a sister, Mildred Moyer preceded her in death.
Memorial services were held February 11, 2019 at Plains Mennonite Church, Hatfield, Montgomery Co., PA with burial in the adjoining cemetery.
Yoder, Alvin G.
July 24, 1923 - February 19, 2019
Alvin G. Yoder, 95, of Goshen, formerly of Millersburg, died at 6:50 pm on Tuesday, February 19, at Waterford Crossing Health Center, Goshen, where he had lived the past three months. He was born on July 24, 1923 in Sumner County, KS, to Levi M. and Gertrude (Yoder) Yoder. On February 1, 1945 in Arthur, IL he married Amanda Miller, she died October 4, 2009.
Surviving are four daughters, Brenda (Dan) Bontrager, Doris (John) Schwartz, Shirley (Marlin) Mast all of Middlebury and Carol (Jr.) Miller of Sarasota, FL; two sons, Larry (Cindy) Yoder and Ray (Jeanette) Yoder all of Goshen; 14 grandchildren, 16 step-grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, several step-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mary (Alvin) Miller of Goshen and Gertie (Orville) Christner of Wolcottville; a brother, Levi (Pensi) Yoder Jr. of Thailand.
He was preceded in death by parents; wife; son in law, Lavern Hochstetler; four sisters, Sara Miller, Anna Troyer, Polly Mast and Edna Troyer; two brothers, Bill Yoder and Samuel C. Yoder.
Alvin was a farmer his entire life and drove school bus for 31 years in the Fairfield School System. He helped start and was very active with Millersburg Farmers Day, where he and his wife were honored as Grand Marshals. He was a salesman for Pioneer Seed Corn and had volunteered as a Red Coat for many years at Goshen Hospital.
Visitation will be from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 - 8:00 pm on Tuesday, February 26, at Clinton Frame Church, 63846 CR 35 Goshen. There will also be one hour of visitation prior to the 10:00 am funeral service on Wednesday also at the church. Services will be conducted by Pastors Linda Miller and Matt Yoder. Burial will be in Clinton Frame Cemetery, Goshen. Memorials may be given to Clinton Frame Church for mission projects.
Yoder, Ananias "Ray"
May 15, 1955 - November 19, 2019
Ananias "Ray" Yoder, 64, of Middlebury, died unexpectedly at 1:26 am on Tuesday, November 19 at his residence. He was born on May 15, 1955, in Orrville, OH, to Rudy C. and Mattie (Yoder) Yoder. On January 31, 1975 in Middlebury, he married Mary Yoder; she survives.
Survivors in addition to his wife are son, Steve (Lori) Yoder of Middlebury; three grandchildren, Reylyn, Kirsten, and Kianna Yoder; three brothers, Sam (Emma) Yoder, John Yoder both of Goshen, Enos (Carol) Yoder of Middlebury; two sisters-in-law, Ada Yoder of Apple Creek, OH, Mary Yoder of Colon, MI.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Ben Yoder, Rudy Jr. Yoder; sister-in-law, Delilah Yoder.
Ray worked in construction and as a drywall finisher for over 30 years. He also worked at Fiber By-Products and as an environmental health technician at Elkhart General Hospital. In retirement he was an Amish taxi driver. He attended Maple City Chapel. Ray loved his grandchildren and was known for always having a smile on his face.
Visitation will be from 3:00 - 8:00 pm on Thursday, November 21 at Miller-Stewart Funeral Home, 1003 South Main Street, Middlebury. There will also be visitation from 9:30 - 10:15 am prior to the 10:30 am funeral service on Friday, November 22 at Fairhaven Mennonite Church, 13513 SR 4, Goshen. Services will be conducted by Pastors Gary Miller and Dan B. Miller. Burial will be in Thomas Cemetery,
Goshen.
Yoder, Ann S. Miller Troyer Schmucker
April 20, 1939 - October 15, 2019
Ann S. (Troyer) Yoder, 80, of Goshen, died at 10:10 pm, on Tuesday, October 15, at Courtyard of Goshen. She was born on April 20, 1939, in Constantine, MI, to Levi E. (Lottie) and Ida (Gingerich) Miller. On September 6, 1959 in Middlebury, she married Edward E. Troyer; he died September 5, 1995. She married Harley Yoder in Goshen; he survives.
Surviving in addition to her husband are her five children, Gene (Cathy) Troyer of Middlebury, Kathy (John) Hanes of Allendale, MI , Ron (Tina) Troyer of Fort Wayne, Rich (Melissa) Troyer of Middlebury, Mike (Becky) Troyer of LaGrange; step-son, DeWayne (Brenda) Yoder of Goshen; two step-daughters, Sherry (Dave) Faulkner of Goshen; stepdaughter, Sandy (Troy) Snider of Milford; 26 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild; two brothers, Willie (Marilyn) Miller of Goshen, Pete (Karen) Miller of OR; four sisters-in-law, Mattie Miller of LaGrange, Kathy Miller of CO, Joanna (Daniel) Graber of Scott, Edna Frye of Goshen; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband Edward Troyer; second husband, Ray Schmucker; three brothers, Robert Miller, Dennis Miller, and Elmer Miller; granddaughter, Crystal Brewster.
Ann was a member of First Mennonite Church of Middlebury. She and Ed were the former owners of Hilltop Restaurant in Middlebury and established Crystal Valley Catering in 1978 and they sold the business in 1984. She also drove school bus for Middlebury Community Schools and later in life volunteered at The Depot and Ryan's Place. She enjoyed fishing, quilting, painting and making people laugh.
Visitation will be from 2:00 to 8:00 pm on Friday, October 18 at Miller-Stewart Funeral Home, 1003 South Main Street, Middlebury. Family and friends may gather at 10:00 am on Saturday, October 19 at Grace Lawn Cemetery, Middlebury for a graveside service. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 11:00 am on Saturday, October 19 at First Mennonite Church, Middlebury. Services will be conducted by Pastor Kent Miller. Memorials may be given to Ryan's Place.
Yoder, Anna Mae Mast
February 2, 1935 - December 18, 2019
Anna Mae Yoder, 84, of Middlebury, died at 1:30 am on Wednesday, December 18, at her residence. She was born on February 2, 1935 in Middlebury, to David and Susie (Mast) Mast. On January 26, 1956 in Middlebury, she married Ernest W. Yoder; he survives.
Survivors in addition to her husband are daughter, SuEtta (Ernest) Kuhns of Etna Green; five sons, Gaylord (Miriam) Yoder of Shipshewana, Merlin (Dorothy) Yoder of Nappanee, Orla (Marlene) Yoder of Shipshewana, Marion (Laverta) Yoder of Middlebury, Wayne (Lena) Yoder of Topeka; 39 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren; sister, Katie Otto of Wakarusa; two sisters-in-law, Suvilla Mast of AZ, Ilene Mast of Wakarusa.
She was preceded in death by her parents; infant son, Glen David Yoder; two sisters, Sylvia Yoder, Barbara Yoder; three brothers, Ora, Sam, and Lester Mast.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Old Order Amish Church.
Visitation will be after 3:00 pm on Wednesday, December 18 and all day Thursday, December 19 at the family residence, 10668 CR 16, Middlebury. Funeral services will be at 9:30 am on Friday, December 20 also at the family residence. Services will be conducted by Bishop Norman Lehman and the home ministers. Burial will be in Mast Cemetery, Middlebury.
Yoder, Anna Riesecker Miller
January 19, 1923 - March 12, 2019
Anna Miller Yoder, 96, better known to her friends as "Wickie Ann" went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 12, which was her desire for the last several years. She was born on a farm south of Middlebury on January 19, 1923 to Samuel and Fannie (Kauffman) Riegsecker. On September 21, 1946 she married William (Wickie) Miller; he died November 28, 1984. On April 24, 1999 she married Herbert Yoder; he died November 16, 2014.
She is survived by her three children; Bonnie (Woody) Bailey, Don (Janet) Miller, and Dean (Rhea) Miller. Her six grandchildren; Dawn (Keith) Blocker, Tia (Matt) Johnson, Suzanne (Todd) Hoek, Benji (Ana) Bailey, Lance (Nikki) Miller, Nolan (Kylie) Miller and her 11 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by five stepchildren Del (Shirley) Yoder, Craig (Nan) Yoder, Byron (Becky) Yoder, Gary (Lisa) Yoder, and Lori (Cliff) Yoder; and 13 step grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands; two brothers Elmer and Ben Riegsecker; and two sisters Louisa Hershberger and Susie Miller.
She was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. She worked at the Middlebury elementary school as a cook for 29 years. She was well known for making excellent pies and hosting many guests in her home. She enjoyed crocheting and traveling, including a mission trip to Washington DC for Habitat for Humanity. She was faithful to her church, First Mennonite Church in Middlebury where she had volunteered her time as a Sunday School Teacher, helper for Vacation Bible School, women sewing circle, and organized and cooked innumerous funeral meals.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Friday, March 15, at Miller-Stewart Funeral Home, Middlebury. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, March 16, at First Mennonite Church, Middlebury. Services will be conducted by pastors Phil Yoder and Kent Miller. Burial will take place in Miller Cemetery, Goshen. Memorial contributions may be given to Water for Life.
Yoder, Anne Marie Guth
February 24, 1925 - September 20, 2019
Anne Marie Guth was born on February 24, 1925 to Marie Nafziger and Christian Guth at the Remsing farmhouse in Folking, France. She loved school, but was not able to continue formal schooling after age twelve due to her family’s ever more precarious financial situation. World War II dominated her adolescence as the family was evacuated to southern France, then returned to Germany-annexed Lorraine, with one brother in hiding and her father in concentration camps.
The period after the war held many new opportunities as she began working in Mennonite children’s homes and spent a very happy year as an exchange student at Goshen College in Indiana. After her return to France, she met John Howard Yoder and they were married July 19, 1952. With John she began a series of many moves as she raised her family of 6 surviving children in France, Switzerland, Ohio, Indiana, Argentina and Palestine. Prairie Street Mennonite Church became her church home in Elkhart, Indiana, where the family lived most of this time. After John’s sudden death in 1997, Annie eventually moved to Goshen, Indiana, where her final years were spent in the comfort of her new home, surrounded by loving neighbors, friends and family.
Annie was blessed with empathy for those not at home in U.S. culture and those suffering from poor health and other burdens. She hosted Oaklawn day treatment patients and nurtured an amazing number of friendships around the world. She took delight in being in nature and in singing. She seemed to have a French or German song to fit every occasion.
She is survived by her children Rebecca Yoder Neufeld (Thomas), Martha Yoder Maust (Rod), Daniel Yoder (Thea), Elisabeth Yoder (Wahba Ayyad), Esther Yoder Strahan (Jeff) and John-David Yoder (Lynda Nyce), as well as 14 grandchildren: David (Gina), Miriam, Rachel (Rolando), Reuben (Katy), Ruth (Sudhanshu), Biniam, Nathanael (Mica, deceased), Sarah (Anthony), Naomi, Anna, Jonathan, Laura, Isaac, and John-Paul, step-granddaughter, Amy, five great-grandchildren, Nuria, Sydney, Leo, Nora, and Elijah, her brother, Robert Guth (Annette) in France, her sister-in-law, Mary Ellen Meyer (Albert), and many dear friends and relatives around the world.
She is predeceased by her husband, John Howard Yoder, daughter, Rachel Christine Yoder and her brothers, Jean Guillaume Guth (Lucienne) and Adolphe Guth (Marthe).

Visitation will be Friday, October 25, 2019, from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday, October 26 from 9 a.m. until the 11 a.m. memorial service at Prairie Street Mennonite Church, Elkhart. A meal will follow the service.

Yoder, Anne Marie Guth, 94, of Goshen, Elkhart Co., IN died September 20, 2019 at the same place after suffering a stroke.
She was born February 24, 1925 at Folkling, France to Christian and Marie (Nafziger) Guth. Christian was born June 24, 1883 and died May 11, 1967. Marie was born July 29, 1887 and died February 13, 1959.
On July 19, 1952 in Wissembourg, France she was married to John Howard Yoder, who was born December 29, 1927 and died December 30, 1997
Surviving are children, Rebecca Yoder Neufeld (Thomas); Martha Yoder Maust (Rodney); Daniel Yoder (Thea); Elizabeth Yoder (Wahba Ayyad); Esther Yoder Strahan (Jeff); and John-David Yoder (Lynda Nyce); 14 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; and a brother, Robert Guth (Annette).
A daughter, Rachel Christine Yoder, and two brothers, Jean Guillaume Guth (Lucienne) and Adolphe Guth (Marthe) preceded her in death.

February 3, 1969 - December 30, 2019
Charles Ira Yoder, 50, Wakarusa, died 10:31 a.m. Monday, Dec. 30, 2019 at Memorial Hospital of South Bend. He was born Feb. 3, 1969 in Wabash to Gordon & Margaret (Eby) Yoder. On July 8, 1989, he married Tammy (Dylewski) Yoder.
Surviving are his wife, Tammy, Wakarusa, daughters, Candice (Dacoda New) Yoder, Granger, Katie Yoder, Wakarusa, Clara Yoder, Wakarusa, grandsons, Matthew Yoder & Cole New, parents, Gordon & Margaret Yoder, Wyatt and siblings, Jeannette (Gregg) Russell, Wyatt & Kathleen (Ricardo) Narvaez, Arvada, Colorado.
Preceding him in death are a son, Geoffrey Yoder and grandparents, Charles & Mildred Eby.
Charles was an electrician at Siemens and formerly worked for Koontz-Wagner Electric and was a talented wood worker. He was a member of the Olive Mennonite Church. He was a former leader of the Swine Club of Madison Township, St. Joseph County 4-H. Charles was also a 4-H member of the Swine Club in his youth and continued his love working with pigs. Teaching the next generation about swine husbandry and woodworking. He loved anything and everything that had to do with cutting a tree down and wood working. He loved being a grandpa, playing with his grandchildren.
Visitation will be 3-5 & 6-8 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 4, 2020 and 2-4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 5, 2020, with the funeral service at 4 p.m., all at Olive Mennonite Church, 61081 CR 3, Elkhart. Pastor Philip Leichty will officiate. Memorial donations may be directed to Tammy Yoder for their youngest two daughters or to the St. Joseph County 4-H Swine Club.

Yoder, Christian R. "Chriss"

Funeral services for Christian R. "Chriss" Yoder will be held Tuesday, January 1, 2019 at 9:30 AM at the Perry Bender Residence, 2710 560th St. SW, Kalona, with burial following at the Peter Miller Cemetery. Visitation will be held Sunday, Dec. 30 from 2 - 8PM and Monday, Dec. 31 from 10:30 - 7:30 AM all at the Perry Bender Residence. The Beatty Peterseim Funeral Home is assisting the family. Christian Ray Yoder was born November 30, 1930 in Johnson County, Iowa, the son of Edward G. and Anna (Ropp) Yoder. He was baptized in the Old Order Amish Church in his youth and remained a faithful member until his death. He was united in marriage to Eldora S. Mast on October 25, 1951 in Kalona, and they lived in matrimony 67 years. To this union were born four sons and three daughters. Chriss died suddenly from an apparent heart failure in his home at the age of 88 years and 28 days.
He is survived by his wife Eldora and seven children: Cephas and wife Emma Yoder, Mahlon and wife Bertha Yoder, Verna and husband Perry Bender all of Kalona, Edna and husband Perry Miller of Windsor, MO, Wesley and wife Verlene Yoder of Brighton, IA, Samuel and wife Norma Yoder and Louise and husband Tobias Yoder of Kalona, 56 grandchildren, 143 great-grandchildren, three brothers: J. Edward and wife Treva Yoder of Goshen, IN, Alton and wife Susie Yoder and Marvin and wife Elizabeth Yoder of Crofton, KY, two brothers-in-law: Eddie J. Miller of Kalona and Herman E. Miller of Guthrie, KY.
Preceding Chriss in death were his parents, three brothers: Sylvanus, Thomas and Lewis, four sisters: Viola, Edna, Dorothy, Lydia Anna, three grandchildren and four great -grandchildren.
Yoder, Earl D., 85, of Belleville, Mifflin Co., PA died December 6, 2019 at the same place. He was born December 27, 1933 to David and Carrie Yoder. On September 5, 1953 he was married to Peggy Krepps, who was born February 9, 1933 and survives.
Surviving are children, Melody Byler; Margery Zook; and Marilyn Spangler.
Memorial services were held December 11, 2019 at Maple Grove Mennonite Church, 115 Maple Grove Rd. Belleville, PA with burial in Locust Grove Cemetery, Belleville, PA.

Earl D. Yoder 85, of Belleville, passed away Friday Dec. 6 5:08 p.m. at Valley View Haven.
He is survived by his wife Peggy M. (Krepps) Yoder with whom he married on Sept. 5, 1953.
He is also survived by children, Melody Ann Byler and husband Kenneth of Perkasie, Margery Arlene Zook and husband James of Belleville and Marilyn Audrey Spangler of Belleville. He was preceded in death by a son in law, Keith Spangler. He also proceded in death by two brothers, Robert and Melvin and a sister Emma Glick.
He is also surivied by grandchildren, Joshua Byler and wife Jill; Craig Zook and wife Sharisa, Colby Mannino and husband Matthew. Great grandchildren, Dane Zook, Harper Zook, Austin Mannio and Hannah Mannino and sisters, Shirley Powers of Lewistown and Darlis Strawser and husband Mervin of McAlisterville.
Earl was a farm manager from 19 58 to 1962. He then became manager of Agway in Milheim and Mifflin from 1962 to 1966. In 1966, he was asked to be a Administor of Stone Mountain Village Home for boys, a residential treatment center for emotionally disturbed boys, that was located in Belleville. In 1981, Earl obtained his student ministerial license for the Mennonite Church. In order to obtain this license, he took 30 hours of training in a hospice program and one unit of clinical Pastoral education at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. In August of 1982, Earl felt he had a calling to minister to people so he appiled and was accepted to Eastern Mennonite Seminary in Harrisonburg, VA, to further prepare him for the minstry. Just prior to entering the seminary, he fulfilled another unit of clinical Pastoral education at Hershey Medical Center. He then graduated from Eastern Mennonite Seminary with a two year degree and returned to Hershey Medical Center to complete two more units of CPE and was then ordained for Chaplaincy work in Dec. 1983. In Jan. 1984, he began working at Peter Becker Retirement in Harleysville, where he remained chaplain for 16 years. While at Peter Becker Community, he became the founder of a local Parkinson’s disease support group that met monthly. Earl was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 1984 at the age of 51.
He was a co-founder of Manbeck Mennonite Church, served on the board of Youth for Christ, served as chaplain for the Harleysville Fire Company while living Souderton, and was hired by the PA Council of Churches in 1982 to be the Chaplain at Prince Gallitzin State Park. Earl has served on many committees within the church and was a Sunday school teacher for many years.
His hobbies include reading, traveling, and spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Earl will be remembered for his positive attitude, sense of humor, and his love for the Lord.
His funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2019 at Maple Grove Mennonite Church with Pastors Alan Kauffman and Vaughn Kanagy officiating. Burial will take place at the convenience of the family at Allensville Mennonite Cemetery. His family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2019 at Maple Grove Church.

Elva Lydia Yoder, 93, of Middlebury, died at 1:10 am on Monday, June 24 at her residence. She was born on July 20, 1925 in Hutchinson, KS, to Andrew S. "Sam Andy" and Lydia (Beachy) Miller. On November 23, 1943 in LaGrange County she married Andrew E. Yoder; he died June 26, 1992.
Surviving are seven sons, Gerald (Wilma) Yoder of Topeka, Martin (Lizzie Ann) Yoder of LaGrange, Eugene (Dorothy) Yoder of Topeka, John (Ruth) Yoder of White Pigeon, MI, Larry (Martha) Yoder of Middlebury, David Yoder of Topeka, Glen (Marietta) Yoder of Shipshewana; five daughters, Esther (Sam) Borkholder of Middlebury, Edith (Cornelius) Fehr of Sturgis, Linda (Calvin) Hochstetler of White Pigeon, MI, Mary (Daniel) Yoder of Middlebury, Barbara (Jonathan) King of Middlebury; daughter-in-law, Clara Yoder of Shipshewana; 96 grandchildren, 277 great-grandchildren, 19 great great grandchildren, 13 step grandchildren, 32 step great grandchildren.

Galen LaVern Yoder, Greencroft Goshen, passed through death into life on April 10, 2019, at the age of 93. He was born August 4, 1925, to Edwin J. and Mollie (Stoltzfus) Yoder in Topeka. He married Esther Mishler on April 17, 1948.
He is survived by five of their six children: Retha (Franklin) Baer, of Harrisonburg, Virginia; Rosalie Yoder of Hampton, Virginia; Ronald (Jane) Yoder of Wolcottville; Roberta (Terry) Bontrager of Central Asia; and Rodney (Verna) Yoder of West LaFayette; 15 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren, and his sister, Olive Grace (Ed) Millerof Elkhart.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Esther, their son, Russell, at age 19, as well as by his sisters, Genevieve Friesen and Gladys Johns, and his brother, Gerald Yoder.
Galen was a dairy farmer who often claimed to be outstanding in his field. He served on the board of Milk, Inc. flying his own plane to meetings out of state. He enjoyed performing with the Menno Singers and was actively involved in music and leadership positions in several churches, including Maple Grove Mennonite, Topeka; Wawasee Lakeside Chapel, Syracuse; Topeka Mennonite Church; and Waterford Mennonite Church, Goshen. After retiring from the farm, he enjoyed woodworking, became a member and leader with Gideons International, and was active in the Topeka Area Historical Society. His humor and story-telling will long be remembered by his family and friends.
Visitation will be at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, Goshen, Wednesday April 24, 2019 from 4-7 p.m. Burial will be at Maple Grove Cemetery, Topeka at 9 a.m. Thursday April 25, 2019 . A memorial service will take place Thursday April 25, 2019 at 11 a.m. at Waterford Mennonite Church.

Yoder, Geoffrey Lee, 23, Wakarusa, died Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2019 as a result of a truck accident. He was born Aug. 29, 1995 in South Bend, to Charlie & Tammy (Dylewski) Yoder.
Surviving are his parents, sisters, Candice (Dacoda New) Yoder, Granger, Katie Yoder, Wakarusa, Clara Yoder, Wakarusa, nephews, Matthew Yoder & Cole New, maternal grandparents, C. Sue Dylewski & Eugene Andrew (Barbara) Dylewski Sr., paternal grandparents, Gordon & Margaret Yoder, his girlfriend, Rachel Carney and her parents, Matt & Diane Carney, Lakeville.
Geoffrey was a 2014 graduate of Penn High School and worked as a lead mechanic for Northern Indiana Construction. He was a 10 year Madison Township 4-H member; Junior Volunteer Firefighter for Madison Township Fire Department in high school and a member of Boy Scout Troop #555. Geoffrey loved farming, raising his cows and Dodge Cummins Truck. He was an avid diesel mechanic and attended Olive Mennonite Church.

Yoder, Glen H., 74, of Topeka, died at 3:25 pm on Monday, February 4, at his residence after a brief illness. He was born on July 6, 1944 in Goshen to Henry A. and Mary N. (Miller) Yoder. On May 14, 1964 in Topeka he married Elizabeth Mae Miller, she survives.

Glenn A. Yoder, age 83, of Goshen, died at 10:20 pm, Friday, November 29, 2019 at Greencroft Healthcare, Goshen where he been a patient since October 18, 2019. He had been in ill health for 2 months. Glenn was born October 27, 1936 in Mantua, OH to Amos O. and Anna (Hochstetler) Yoder. He grew up in Mantua and moved to the Wakarusa/ Goshen area in 1962. On September 20, 1959, he was married to Carolyn Yoder at Yellow Creek Mennonite Church by Rev. Peter B. Wiebe.
After graduating from High School, Glenn did Voluntary Service for 2 years at Froh Brothers Homestead in Sturgis, MI. After moving to this area, he went to work at Supersweet Feed, where he drove truck for 35 years, retiring in 2005. After retirement, he continued to drive truck for Yellow Creek Gravel and then was a driver for the Amish Community. Glenn was a member of Yellow Creek Mennonite Church, where he served as usher and was a former president of his Sunday School class. He was a 50 year member and past president of the Wakarusa Lions Club and a member of the Goshen Toy Club. He enjoyed collecting toy trucks. Mr. Yoder enjoyed traveling, being with his family and attending his grandson's sporting events. He also was in Rook Club with friends for 40 years.
Mr. Yoder is survived by his wife, Carolyn; daughter, Diane (Mike) Glick, Goshen; son, Rick (Shelley) Yoder, Wakarusa; grandchildren, Derek Yoder, Reid Yoder, both of Wakarusa, Connor Glick, Goshen; and siblings, Nolan Yoder, Orville, OH, Marjorie King, West Liberty, OH, Don (Pauline) Yoder, Walnut Creek, OH, and John (Mary) Yoder, Orville, OH. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Cody Glick.
Family and friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8, Friday, December 6, 2019 at Yellow Creek Mennonite Church and from 10-11 am, Saturday, December 7th also at the Church. Goldie Edith Yoder, 79, Goshen, formerly of Millersburg, died 6:33 p.m. Thursday, May 9, 2019 at Courtyard Healthcare. She was born Sept. 25, 1939 in Goshen, to Valentine & Lizzie (Christner) Miller. On Feb. 14, 1959, she married Amos J. Yoder Sr. and they were married 60 years.
Surviving are her husband, Amos, Goshen, children, Joan Yoder, Bloomfield, New Mexico, Carl (Angie) Yoder, Millersburg, Ralph (Bonnie) Yoder, Bloomfield, New Mexico, 9 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and siblings, Sarah Miller, Goshen, Arthur Miller, Baton Rouge, Louisiana and Raymond Miller, Goshen.

Goldie worked at Artisan Interiors, Middlebury, for many years. She attended Clinton Frame Church, where she was active with Summer Bible School. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, playing cards and loved her church family and friends. Most of all, Goldie loved her family and cherished her grandchildren.

Irvin C. Yoder, 87, of Goshen, died Friday, May 24, 2019, at Goshen Hospital after a stroke on Monday.
He was born July 17, 1931 in Grantsville, Maryland and was raised by Oscar and Katherine “Kate” Yoder in Middlebury.
On November 23, 1950 he married Anna Barbara Cross in Middlebury. She died July 19, 2014.
Survivors include daughters, Rosa Yoder of Lake, Michigan, Norma Yoder of Niles, Michigan and Loretta (Dannie) Mast of Goshen; sons, Warren (Marla Kauffman) Yoder of Newton, Kansas, Richard (Anita) Yoder of Greenwood, Dwight (Dianne Smith) Yoder of Mobile, Alabama and Wesley (Jill) Yoder of Goshen; 15 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and siblings, Orvan (Elnora) Yoder and Carolyn (Stanley) Miller, both of Middlebury.
Along with his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by siblings, Evelyn Slabach and Marvin Yoder.
Mr. Yoder owned and operated Blue Fin Boats, farmed and as an ordained minister, served the Riverview Mennonite Church and Calvary Mennonite Church, both in Michigan. He was a member of College Mennonite Church, Goshen.
Visitation will be Monday, May 27, 2019, from 3 to 5 p.m. and Tuesday, May 28, from 9 until the 11 a.m. funeral service at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home.
Burial will follow in Miller 8 Square, Goshen.

Jerry Yoder Jr., 74, of LaGrange, died peacefully at 5:50 am on Thursday, June 27 at his residence. He was born on April 4, 1945 in LaGrange County, to Jerry J. and Mary (Mast) Yoder. On November 28, 1967 in LaGrange County, he married Edna Bontrager, she survives.
Survivors in addition to his wife are four sons, Floyd (LorEtta) Yoder of Shipshewana, Mahlon (Naomi) Yoder of LaGrange, Lester (Wilma) Yoder, David (Loretta) Yoder both of Topeka; two daughters, Leona (Marlin) Wagler of LaGrange, Sue (John) Miller of Middlebury; 37 grandchildren; three brothers, Dave (Jan) Yoder of Middlebury, Lloyd (Katie) Yoder of Millersburg, Wilbur (Wilma) Yoder of Shipshewana; brother-in-law, Elmer (Katie) Miller of LaGrange; three sisters-in-law, Amanda Yoder of LaGrange, Katie Yoder, Mary Kathryn Lambright both of Shipshewana.

He worked in area factories and local wood shops and was a carpenter. He was a member of the Old Order Amish Church.

John A. Yoder, 71, of Goshen, died at 11:00 am on Friday, July 26 at his residence. He was born on October 18, 1947, in Middlebury, to Amos and Katie (Hochstetler) Yoder. On April 19, 1970 in Goshen, he married Mary Lou Bender; she survives.

Mary Anna Yoder, 86, Etna Green, died 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 7, 2019 at her home. She was born Dec. 28, 1932 in Goshen, to Cephas & Amelia “Millie” (Hochstetler) Nisley. On April 4, 1957, she married Emmon Yoder and he died July 23, 2010.
Surviving are 5 children, Bertha (David) Miller, Etna Green, Philip (Kathy) Yoder, Goshen, Esther Yoder, Etna Green, Freeman (Debbie) Yoder, Middlebury, Dorothy (Tim) Schwartz, New Paris, daughter-in-law, Doris Yoder, Nappanee, 14 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and a sister, Esther Nisley, Goshen.
Preceding her in death are her parents, husband, son, Menno Yoder, 2 grandchildren, Christopher Miller & Trevor Yoder, 3 brothers, Ray, John & Willis and a sister, Fannie Mae Hochstetler.
Mary Anna was a homemaker and a member of Clay Street Mennonite Church, Bourbon. She was very dedicated to the Lord and a blessing to the brotherhood. She enjoyed working in her flowerbeds and garden. Mary Anna loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mattie J. Yoder, 97, of Belleville, passed away at 3:50 a.m. Sunday, July 28, 2019, at Valley View Haven.
Born Feb. 13, 1922, in Arthur, Illi., she was the daughter of the late John J. Yoder and Sarah J. (Swarey) Yoder.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David R. Yoder, who she was married to for 45 years and passed in May 1991; three sisters and two brothers.
She is survived by: children, John S. Yoder and wife, Dorothy I. (Brubaker), of Mill Creek, Judy C. Gromis, of State College, and Marilyn K. Yoder, of Belleville; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; brother, John Homer Yoder and wife, Janice, of Roseburg, Ore.; sisters, Sadie Byler and husband, David, of Belleville, and Katie Frank, of Central Pointe, Ore.; and sister-in-law, Joel Yoder, of Woodland, Calif.
She was primarily a homemaker and a farmer’s wife. She enjoyed cooking and baking, reading and gardening. She was a member of Maple Grove Mennonite Church.
Her funeral service will be private and at the convenience of the family. A memorial service will be held at a later date at Valley View Haven Chapel.

Surviving are children, John S. Yoder, Judy Grimes, and Marilyn Yoder; seven grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren.

Yoder, Melvin Allen
September 11, 1924 - November 3, 2019
Melvin Allen Yoder entered his eternal home with Christ on November 3, 2019 at the age of 95. He was a kind man who loved his family and served his Lord with his time and talent. Mel was born on September 11, 1924, the fifth of nine children born to Alpheus and Elnora Yoder in Minot, North Dakota. His paternal grandparents moved the family there from Pennsylvania to homestead. All of his siblings have preceded him in death. Only one wonderful brother-in-law, Richard Oyer, (wife Margaret) survives. His family lived a hardworking farming life and loved singing together. They later moved to Ohio.
Mel graduated from Goshen College in 1950 and became an elementary school teacher. He met Betty Mae Burkey, another elementary teacher, his beloved for 66 years, and they married in 1953. Mel earned his master's degree from Indiana University was a teacher at Chandler and several other elementary schools before becoming principal at Middlebury Elementary and Junior High School. He was principal at Middlebury for 25 years. As a principal, he found his vocational niche and enjoyed going to work each day. After retirement from the public school system, he worked with elementary teacher education at Goshen College.
Mel and Betty had two children, Rita (husband, Kevin) of Lafayette and Neal (wife, Leslie) of Wakarusa. They have seven wonderful grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Mel served in various capacities at the College Mennonite Church and was an active member of Morning Kiwanis, serving as president for many years. He and Betty enjoyed traveling during their retirement years. He loved to sing and lent his tenor voice to Menno Singers, quartets, and various choral groups. He was an avid bird watcher and expert.
Most of all, Mel loved spending time with his wife and family. He enjoyed being with his grandchildren, taking them on nature hikes, and making them his signature pancakes. He was a singer of nursery rhymes and teller of stories. He was a jack of all trades and was known to fix, paint, and refinish many items in need of his skillful touch. Mel was an appreciative husband and warm and loving dad and grandpa. He loved his Heavenly Father and served him in his life and work.
Visitation will be Friday, November 8, 2019, from 9 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral service at College Mennonite Church, in the Gathering Room.
Burial will take place at Elkhart Prairie Cemetery, Goshen.

Melvin W. Yoder, 68, of LaGrange, died at 3:20 am on Wednesday, December 25, at his residence after a lengthy battle with cancer. He was born on April 8, 1951 in LaGrange County to William J. and Lovina (Helmuth) Yoder. On April 22, 1971 in LaGrange County he married Polly Anna Mullet, she survives.

Menno N. Yoder, 94, of LaGrange, died at 3:00 am on Thursday, December 19, at his residence. He was born on December 12, 1925 in LaGrange County to Noah J. and Mattie (Yoder) Yoder. On November 18, 1948 in Millersburg he married Alice I. Beechy, she survives.

Menno was a farmer and carpenter; he was the owner/operator of his own cabinet shop. He was a member of the Old Order Amish Church where he was ordained as a Minister in 1954 and then as the Bishop in 1979. He was currently serving as Senior Bishop.
Visitation will be after 4:00 pm on Thursday, December 19, and all day Friday, December 20, at the family's residence, 7630 W. 050 N. LaGrange. Funeral services will be at 9:30 am on Saturday, December 21, also at the family’s residence.
Services will be conducted by the home ministers of district 41-2, including Minister Gary Lambright and Minister Calvin Miller. Burial will be in East Barren Cemetery, Shipshewana.

May 10, 1929 - November 7, 2019
Pete A. Yoder, 90, of Middlebury, went home to be with his Lord and Savior while surrounded by his family at 10:39 pm on Thursday, November 7, at Courtyard of Goshen. He was born on May 10, 1929 in Middlebury to Ira and Ola (Mishler) Yoder. On September 30, 1951 in Goshen he married Florence Ramer, she survives.
Survivors in addition to his wife are two sons, Dennis (Jennifer) Yoder and Dana Yoder; daughter, Beth (Frank) Fisher; all of Middlebury; five grandchildren, Jared, Jenna, Emily, Ethan and Ella; one great grandson, Jaxx Fisher; brother, Merritt (Rose) Yoder of Venice, FL.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Kathryn Kilmer, Norma Mishler, Lois Yoder; two brothers, Golan and Ralph Yoder.
Pete had worked as an electrician in his younger years and as a farmer for most of his life. He had been an active member for many years of the former Forks Mennonite Church, now the Middlebury Community Church of the Nazarene. He had a true love for the Lord and was known as the spiritual leader of his family. As a young man he served his IW service in Mississippi. He enjoyed traveling, especially with his family. He was a massage the therapist for 15 years. Music was an important part of his life. Pete and Florence gave many music programs with their children and grandchildren and Pete was a member of the Crusaders Quartet for 25 years. He was a loving and dedicated husband, father and grandfather.
The family would like to thank Courtyard Healthcare and Elara Caring Hospice for their compassion and the loving care that they provided to Pete and his family.
Visitation will be from 5:00 - 7:00 pm on Monday November 11, at Miller-Stewart Funeral Home, Middlebury. There will also be one hour of visitation prior to the 10:00 am funeral service on Tuesday, November 12, at Middlebury Community Church of the Nazarene. Rebecca Z. Yoder, 53, of Shipshewana, died at 2:49 am on Monday, March 4, at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne. She was born on January 6, 1966, in Lewistown, PA, to Noah and Madelene (Zook) Speicher. On December 27, 1991, in Lewistown, PA, she married Samuel Yoder; he survives.
Survivors in addition to her husband are daughter, Lizziann Yoder of Shipshewana; six sisters and four brothers.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, and one brother.
She was a homemaker and a member of Roselawn Conservative Mennonite Church. She was an excellent seamstress and enjoyed cooking.

Rosemary Yoder, 67, of Shipshewana, passed away at 1:30 pm, Friday, September 6 at Miller's Merry Manor, LaGrange, after a brief battle with cancer. She was born on November 29, 1951, in LaGrange, to Arthur and Elizabeth (Frey) Hochstetler. On September 9, 1971 in Topeka she married Jerry J. Yoder; he died August 10, 2015.
Surviving are five sons, Gary (Carolyn) Yoder of Shipshewana, Verlin (Rachel) Yoder of Bell, FL, John (Marlene) Yoder of Shipshewana, Jonathan (Leora) Yoder of Shipshewana, James (Rose) Yoder of Shipshewana; daughter, Waneta (Floyd) Miller of Shipshewana; 30 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; four brothers, Omar (Ida) Hochstetler of Shipshewana, Cal (Linda) Hochstetler of White Pigeon, MI, Tobe (Elsie) Hochstetler of Topeka, Ernest (Rosetta) Hochstetler of Millersburg; three sisters, Saraetta (David) Miller, Annabelle Hochstetler, Ruby (Kenny) Fry.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and brother, Daniel Hochstetler.

Ruby J. Yoder, age 85, of Bourbon, died at 5:00 am, Sunday, June 9, 2019 at Elkhart General Hospital, where she had been a patient for 2 weeks. She was born August 31, 1933 in Bremen to John A. and Sarah J. (Miller) Borkholder.
Mrs. Yoder had lived in this area her lifetime. She was a homemaker and a member of the Old Order Amish Church.
On October 17, 1957, she married Albert Yoder in Marshal County. Tobias M. Yoder, age 82, of Nappanee, died at 5:15 pm, Wednesday, April 3, 2019 at his residence. He had been ill with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy. He was born February 24, 1937 in Thomas, Oklahoma to Mose W. and Barbara (Bender) Yoder. He married Treva Maxine Gingerich September 24, 1959 in Kalona, Iowa.
The Yoder family moved to Indiana in 1990 from Iowa. Mr. Yoder was a member of the Old Order Amish Church in which he was ordained as a minister in 1982. He owned and operated a Buggy and Wheel Repair Shop.

Yoder, Wilfred E., 84, of West Liberty, Logan Co., OH died September 8, 2019 at the same place. He was born March 31, 1935 to Elbert and Dorothy (Esch) Yoder. On May 1, 1960 he was married to Hilda Lehman, who was born May 29, 1930 and survives.
Surviving are two daughters, Arnita Yoder and Melinda Yoder; two brothers, Melvin (Mary) Yoder, and Forest (Elizabeth) Yoder; a sister, Kathy (John) Lowry; and a sister-in-law, Flo Yoder.
A brother, Carl Yoder (wife was Flo Yoder) preceded him in death.

Wilma C. Yoder, 83, of Goshen, died unexpectedly at 1:16 am on Tuesday, October 15 at Goshen Health Hospital. She was born on May 3, 1936 in LaGrange County, to Charles W. and Elizabeth (Lambright*) Lambright. On October 11, 1956 in LaGrange County she married Raymond Yoder; he survives.

Wilma was a member of Siloam Fellowship. She was a homemaker and also helped her husband transport RV's later in life. Her CB handle was "Pie Baker." She enjoyed making sure everyone was well fed and loved all children. She and her husband had been to all 661 Cracker Barrel's in the United States.
Visitation will be from 6:00 - 8:00 pm on Thursday, October 17 and 2:00 - 4:00 and 6:00 - 8:00 pm on Friday, October 18 at Siloam Fellowship, 61616 CR 35, Goshen. Wilma S. Yoder, age 86, of Nappanee, died at 5:50 am, Monday, December 16, 2019 at Elkhart Hospice House after a short illness. She was born August 7, 1933 in Elkhart County to Monroe A. and Tillie (Stutzman) Stutzman. On April 7, 1955, she married Owen J. Yoder in Nappanee. He preceded her in death March 31, 2004.
Mrs. Yoder lived her lifetime in this area. She was co-owner of Yoder Stutzman Plumbing and Heating in Nappanee and a member of the Old Order Amish Church.

Youndt, Veronica Gehman, 98, of 333 Wheat Ridge Drive, Ephrata, PA went home to be with the Lord on Monday, February 18, 2019.
She was the wife of the late Clair R. Youndt who died in 2004. Born in Maple Grove, Berks County, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Anna Weber Gehman.
After the death of her husband, she sewed over 7000 school kits for MCC. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, playing games and serving others. She was a member of the Gehman Mennonite Church.
She is survived by six children, Raymond married to Miriam Groff Youndt of Ephrata, Henry married to Ruth Mellinger Youndt of East Earl, Ernest married to Kay Styer Youndt of Mohnton, Linda married to William Keens of Mohnton, Dale married to Joyce Zimmerman Youndt of Denver, and Dean married to Donna Weaver Youndt of Denver; 15 grandchildren, two step-grandchildren; 28 grea- grandchildren; a brother, Allen Gehman of Ephrata, and a sister, Mary Gehman of Lititz. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Aaron and John, and by three sisters, Lena, Alice and Elsie.

Yutzy, Carmen Martin, age 52, of New Paris, died peacefully at 9:18 p.m., Thursday, February 14, 2019 at her residence. She had been in ill health for one year and nine months. She was born March 20, 1966 in Elkhart to Gerald J. and Pauline (Skiles) Martin. Carmen graduated from NorthWood High School. On March 19, 1988 she married Chadwick Yutzy at Bethel Church. She was a homemaker and for over 27 years she enjoyed doing bookkeeping for the family business, Pine Cone Shavings. Carmen enjoyed her grandkids and supporting her family. She enjoyed cheering on her kids in school and sporting events.

Zehr, Beatrice Bast, 96, of Croghan, NY died April 9, 2019 at Lowville, Lewis Co., NY. She was born May 1, 1922 at Tavistock, Ontario, Canada to Daniel and Mary (Jutzi) Bast. On December 31, 1946 at Tavistock she was married to Mark J. Zehr, who was born August 27, 1922 and died in 1994.
Surviving are children, Benjamin (Patricia) Zehr; Mark (Debra) Zehr Jr.; Vaughan Zehr; Mary (Andy) Grau; and Jan Zehr; nine grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren.
A daughter, Nancy Anne Zehr; a grandson, Zachary Zehr; two sisters, Florence Boshart and Katherine RothAnne Blum; a brother, Henry Bast; and two sisters-in-law, Kathleen and Charlotte Zehr preceded her in death.
Beatrice enjoyed doing crafts, which included her yearly Christmas ornaments, and knitting her famous baby blankets. In earlier years she also operated a yarn shop in the family business, Lehman and Zehr Lumber Co.

John F. Zeiset, age 74 years 10 months and 27 days.

John was born in New Holland, PA on April 1, 1944 the son of Martin and Emma (Fox) Zeiset. He died on February 27, 2019 in Thorp, WI, following a few years with Parkinson’s disease. John married Emma W. Stauffer on November 10, 1966 in Pennsylvania. They moved to Wisconsin in April 1976 and then he was ordained to the ministry in June, 1976.
John is survived by his wife, Emma W. Zeiset, 3 sons: Elvin (Annetta) Zeiset of Clarksburg, MO., Marlin (Linda) Zeiset of Thorp, WI and John Zeiset Jr. of Thorp, WI and one daughter: Mary Grace (Laverne) Shirk of Thorp, WI and 24 living grandchildren. Alta Zimmerman, age 75 of Lime Springs passed away on Tuesday, August 27, 2019 at Regional Health Services of Howard County.
My loving wife, and our dear mother and grandmother, Alta Martin Zimmerman, was born to Ivan and Mary (Burkholder) Martin on February 24, 1944 in Lancaster County, PA. She departed this life on August 27, 2019 after an extended battle with Parkinson's disease. She reached the age of 75 years and 6 months.
Mother spent her first 5 years in Lancaster County, after which she moved with her family to Fleetwood. Being the oldest of ten children, she was accustomed to the many responsibilities of a large, busy family. The family did vegetable farming and she also worked at a shirt factory in Fleetwood in her teen years. She married me, Norman S. Zimmerman, on December 12, 1964. We enjoyed almost 55 years of married life. We began life on the farm at Fleetwood and were blessed with 8 children. After 4 of our children were married, we moved to near Cresco, IA in March 1991 and continued the farming occupation.
After experiencing forgiveness of sins and a lengthy search for truth, Dad and Mom found their church home in the Church of God in Christ, Mennonite. They were baptized on December 19, 1976 by Minister Arnold Wiggers. They helped establish the congregation in Fleetwood, later helping build the church on property sold off the farm. She loved the Lord and embraced her faith in God until the end. Dad faithfully cared for her at home until the last 2 months when she moved to a care facility nearby. We are saddened by her absence, but thankful she has gained her eternal rest.
We remember Mom as a lover of song, often singing as she worked. Mom was a busy mother, happily working from morning to night, caring for us and helping Dad where needed. She enjoyed flowers, going to church, gardening and was a lover of hospitality. She was deeply interested in her children's spiritual welfare.
Those left to cherish precious memories are her loving husband, Norman; four sons: Steve and Alma, Kidron, Ohio, Curvin and Nancy, Lime Springs, IA, Leonard and Marcia, Morris, MN, Arnold and Denise, Lime Springs, IA; four daughters: Linda and Luke Peachey, Belleville, PA, Karen and Nevin Byler, Fort Collins, CO, Sandra and Milferd Loewen, Lime Springs, IA, Dorcas and Monte Unruh, Hiawatha, KS; Thirty-six grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; five brothers: Harvey and Mary, North Lawrence, NY, Raymond and Thelma, Lewistown, PA, Ezra and Violet, Ephrata, PA, Ivan Jr. and Edna, Fleetwood, PA, Jere and Edith, Kutztown, PA; three sisters: Annetta and Moses Zimmerman, Thorp, WI, Arlene and Irvin Shirk, Thorp, WI, Pauline and Nevin Brubaker, Hamburg, PA, brother-in-law Harold Zimmerman and wife, Ellen, Kutztown, PA; and many other relatives and friends.
Those who preceded her in death were her parents and one sister, Mary Etta.
The family wishes to express their sincere thanks and appreciation for all the acts of kindness and love shown to us thru the years and during this difficult time. We also deeply appreciate the efforts of her caregivers in the home the last several years. May God richly bless you.

Crystal Dawn Zimmerman, 54, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, of Schaefferstown, PA, passed away peacefully in her home on Thursday, June 13, 2019. She was the wife of Jay M. Zimmerman, sharing 35 years of marriage. She was born in Lancaster on December 17, 1964, a daughter of Lois Arlene Good Stauffer of Lititz and the late H. Glenn Stauffer.
Crystal was a member of Ephrata Community Church. She enjoyed accompanying her husband traveling for sales. Crystal loved spending time with her grandchildren; coloring, swimming, making chalk drawings, reading and singing to them. She also enjoyed serving on the food ministry team as well as the prayer ministry team at Ephrata Community Church. She loved cooking food for her family.
Surviving in addition to her husband are children, Aleesa Groff and husband Benjamin of Schaefferstown, PA; Austin Zimmerman and wife Amber of Myerstown, PA; four grandchildren, Sebastian, Adrian, Tatiana and Avery; siblings, Dennis Stauffer and wife Joanne of Myerstown, PA; Glenda Frederick and husband Steve of New Holland, PA; Ken Stauffer and wife Tammy of Elizabethtown, PA. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Duane and Shannon Stauffer.
Celebration of her Life will be held on Tuesday, June 18, 2019 at 10 am in Ephrata Community Church, 70 Clay School Road, Ephrata, PA. Viewing will be on Monday from 6 pm to 8 pm and Tuesday 9 am to 10 am, both at the church. Interment will be made in the Myerstown Mennonite Cemetery. Zimmerman, David N., 76, of Ephrata, passed away on Thursday, April 25, 2019, at Fairmount Homes Inc.
He was born in Heidelberg Township to the late Abraham B. and Ada (Nolt) Zimmerman and was the husband of Alma N. (Kurtz) Zimmerman, with whom he shared 51 years of marriage.
He was a member of Hammer Creek Mennonite, Lititz, where he was a church trustee for many years. He served 1-W Service in Colorado in the mid 1960's, enjoyed gardening, was a farmer for 21 years, and an employee of Paul B. Zimmerman Inc. prior to his retirement.
In addition to his wife, David is survived by four children, D. Neil (Lisa Armstrong) Zimmerman of Columbia, Diana Zimmerman of Baltimore, MD, Keith (Katrina Wyse) Zimmerman of Columbia, and Anita Zimmerman of Baltimore, MD; three grandchildren, Tyree, Moses, and Imani Zimmerman; two brothers, Paul (Lydia) Zimmerman of Rutledge, MO, and Titus (Geraldine) Zimmerman of Haskell, OK; two sisters, Ada (Lloyd) Sensenig of Annville and Anna (Marvin) Reiff of Manheim; a foster-sister, Carmen Forney of Lebanon; and four sisters-in-law, Edith Zimmerman of Lebanon, Julia Zimmerman of Memphis, MO, Leah Zimmerman of Rutledge, MO, and Erma Zimmerman of Orrstown, PA.
He was preceded in death by eight brothers, Jonas, Noah, Abram, Harvey, Levi, George, Enos, and Ivan Zimmerman; and three sisters, Mary, Alta, and Frances Zimmerman.

Emma M. Zimmerman, 97 of Myerstown, passed away peacefully surrounded by family in her home on Thursday, October 3, 2019. She was the wife of the late John W. Zimmerman who passed away December 20, 2018.
She was born in Caenarvon, Lancaster County on December 13, 1921, a daughter of the late Noah S. and Eva (Martin) Hurst. Mrs. Zimmerman was a member of the Richland Mennonite Church.
Surviving is her son Leroy, husband of Grace (Martin) Zimmerman, Myerstown; grand-daughter: Rochelle (Zimmerman), wife of Carl Sensenig; grandson: Gary, husband of Anita (Nolt) Zimmerman; nine great-grandchildren; four sisters: Irene, wife of Richard Good, Denver; Mabel, wife of the late Ivan Long, Terre Hill; Elsie, wife of Charles Childers, Ohio; Louella, wife of the late Joseph VanPelt, Ohio; brother: Chester, husband of Kathryn (Snader) Hurst, Mt. Joy. Emma was predeceased by her son Clarence H. Zimmerman; six brothers: Melvin, Edwin, Walter, Earl, Marvin, and Raymond Hurst; sister: Mary Nolt.

Erla Martin Zimmerman, 51, of Selinsgrove entered into rest at 1:09 pm on Friday, September 27, 2019 at her residence surrounded by family.
She was born on January 03, 1968 in Ephrata, a daughter of Eli M. and Nora Hoover Martin. On October 18, 1990, in Millmont she married Aaron H. Zimmerman, who survives.
She was a member of the Groffdale Mennonite Conference. Erla was a homemaker.

Zimmerman, Ivan S., 88, of Ephrata, formerly of East Earl, died Tuesday, October 22, 2019, after a brief illness, at Lincoln Christian Home.
Born in Earl Twp., he was a son of the late Noah S. and Lizzie (Sauder) Zimmerman. He was married 66 years on Nov. 23 to Ruth Z. (Horst) Zimmerman.
He was a member of Weaverland Mennonite Church, Weaverland Conference, was a dairy farmer, and enjoyed singing.

Zimmerman, Lena H. Weaver, 91, of Ephrata, passed away on Sunday, April 28, 2019, at Fairmount Homes Inc.
She was born in Ephrata to the late John M. and Lena (Hurst) Horning and was the wife of Ivan Zimmerman with whom she shared 11 years of marriage. She was also the wife of the late Clarence W. Weaver.
Lena was a member of Crossroads Community Fellowship, formerly Hess Mennonite, since 1947, where she volunteered in sewing circle and helping hands committee. She also volunteered at MCC. Lena was a homemaker and had a serving heart.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Larry, husband of Jeani Weaver of Sarasota, FL, Sheryl, wife of the late John Stutzman of Bradenton, FL, Terry, husband of Ruth Weaver of Lebanon, Carol, wife of Larry Collins of Lancaster, Donna Weaver of Seminole, FL, Darlene Zimmerman of King of Prussia, Brian, husband of Jeanie Risser of Mt. Joy, Ivan, Jr., husband of Cheryl Zimmerman of Madison, WI; 18 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren, three sister, Laura Zimmerman of Ephrata, Verna Fox of Ephrata and Minerva Good of Ephrata.

Levi N. Zimmerman, 83, of Rutledge, Missouri, passed away Thursday, March 28, 2019 at the Scotland County Hospital in Memphis, Missouri.
He was born on May 19, 1935, in Lancaster, County, Pennsylvania, the son of Abraham B. and Ada Nolt Zimmerman.
On November 23, 1957, Levi married Leah H. Martin and they lived in Lebanon County, Pennsylvania for fifteen years, where he owned Jacksonville Machine Shop.
In 1973 they moved to a farm near Rutledge, Missouri, where they farmed for twenty-one years. In 1994 they moved to Paris, Missouri, where he was semi retired and built modified shovels. In 2011 they returned to a house on the farm at Rutledge to live out his days close to his family.
Levi had an inventive mind. He loved to weld and build things, and was happiest when he had something new to design and create.
Levi was a member of the Millport Mennonite Church south of Rutledge, Missouri.

Zimmerman, Mabel Maurine Troyer, was born February 3, 1922 near Jet, Oklahoma to Samuel J. and Iva Miller Troyer. Maurine had an older brother, Mervin, and twin brother and sister, Wilbur and Wilma.
She attended the Jet consolidated school for first and second grade. In 1930 the family moved from the farm in Jet, Oklahoma to a farm west of Harper, Kansas. Maurine then attended a one room country school, Nebo. After graduating from eighth grade, she attended Harper High School, graduating in 1940. Later, she attended Special Bible Term at Hesston Academy.
In her youth, Maurine helped farm women at harvest time with cooking and caring for small children. After graduation from high school, she worked as a maid in Wichita, caring for twin girls. Later, she returned to Harper and worked as a clerk at Starr's Variety Store, then as a billing clerk at Western Power and Electric in Harper.
Maurine married Vernon Zimmerman on March 25, 1945. She was a member of Pleasant Valley Mennonite Church, being baptized December 3, 1933. Family and church were a very important part of her life. Vernon and Maurine loved children and welcomed into their home, Loretta, Ila, Orval, Maxine, Joe, Verl, and Veva. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren gave her great enjoyment and she said playing with her grandchildren was better than having a spotless house. Maurine moved to the Harper Hospital's Intermediate Care Wing in 2015.
For many years Maurine taught Sunday School and Bible School, serving as Children's Sunday School Superintendent and GMSA Sponsor. She also was active in the Women's Missionary and Service Commission, serving as an officer, locally and for the church conference. She volunteered many hours at the Union Rescue Mission in Wichita. She loved reading, and read through the Bible numerous times. Maurine enjoyed cooking and compiled a cookbook, "Granny, I'm Hungry." She wrote letters to family and friends keeping in contact weekly with family. She sewed many bags for school kits for Mennonite Central Committee, and embroidered quilt blocks for beautiful quilts. She enjoyed helping her children with school projects, including the annual soil conservation poster and essay contest.
She is survived by children: Loretta (Henry) Hawkins, Rockingham, VA; Ila Zimmerman, Iowa City, IA; Orval Zimmerman, Harper, KS; Maxine (Ralph) Magri, Rockingham, VA; Joe (Kathy) Zimmerman, Harper, KS; Verl (Linda) Zimmerman, Harper, KS and Veva (Jeff) Mumaw, Harrisonburg, VA; 13 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren. Her wish for each family member was to find Jesus as their Savior, and also to find peace, happiness, and contentment.
On February 19, 2019, Maurine passed away at the age of 97 years and 16 days. Maurine was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Vernon in 1995, brothers Mervin and Wilbur, and sister Wilma.
Friends may register from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Funeral service is 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 23, 2019 at the Pleasant Valley Mennonite Church in Harper. A private family burial will precede the service.

Zimmerman, Martha P. Lehman, 81, of Ephrata, passed away November 16, 2019 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Martha was born in Manheim to the late Samuel and Amelia (Pierce) Lehman. She was the wife of Martin M. Zimmerman with whom she celebrated 57 years of marriage in October.
Martha was a member of Hinkletown Mennonite Church for most of her adult life. She enjoyed reading, gardening, family camping, collecting dolls, and going to and having yard sales.
She worked for many years at Raub's Sub Stand at Green Dragon Market and also at the former New Holland Apparel.
Surviving in addition to her husband are three children, Rose Zimmerman of Lancaster, Douglas (Rebecca) Zimmerman of Ephrata, and Todd (Damaris) Zimmerman of Ephrata; three grandchildren, Collin, Jessica, and Shawn; three sisters, Mary (Henry) Nolt, LaVerna (Robert) Hill, and Lorraine Martin; and a sister-in-law, Elizabeth Lehman.
Preceding her in death are three brothers, Paul, Samuel, and David Lehman; and two sisters, Esther Ginder, and Grace Fry.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, November 20 at 6 pm at Hinkletown Mennonite Church, 2031 Division Hwy., Ephrata. The family will receive friends from 4:30 – 6 pm at the Church. Verna High Zimmerman, 78, of 12875 Old Turnpike Road, Mifflinburg, entered into rest at 11:40 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2019, at Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg.
She was born Feb. 18, 1941, in East Earl Township., Lancaster County, a daughter of the late Isaac B. and Hettie (High) Zimmerman. On Jan. 17, 1961, she married Leroy S. Zimmerman who survives. This past January they celebrated 58 years of marriage.
Verna was a homekaer and was a member of Mountain View Church, Groffdale Conference.

She was preceded in death by one son, James A. Zimmerman; two brothers, Harold H. and Christian Zimmerman; four sisters, Mary H. Newswanger, Esther H. Weaver, Elva H. Zimmerman and Mabel H. Horst; and five brothers-in-law.
Family and friends are invited to the viewing from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 1, at the residence of Kenneth and Anna Mae Martin, 14340 Old Turnpike Road, Millmont, where the funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Monday, Dec. 2. Further services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Monday at Mountain View Old Order Mennonite Church, 274 Kaiser Run Road,Millmont, with Bishop Ammon Weaver, officiating.
Interment will be in Mountain View Old Order Mennonite Church Cemetery, Millmont.

Zimmerman, Victoria Rose, infant daughter of Charles and Michelle (Knicely) Zimmerman, of Narvon, passed away on Thursday, October 31, 2019, at UPMC Pinnacle Lititz. In addition to her parents, Victoria is survived by a sister, Lexi Dawn Zimmerman; paternal grandparents, Lester N. and Sharon A. (Shirk) Zimmerman of Narvon; maternal grandparents, John M. and Laura F. (Wenger) Knicely of Bridgewater, VA; paternal great-grandparents, Irvin M. and Martha (Nolt) Zimmerman of Ephrata, Vera W. Shirk of Narvonl and maternal great-grandparents, Eunice Knicely of Dayton, VA, Willis and Ruth Wenger of Dayton, VA. She was preceded in death by an infant brother, Brett Janson Zimmerman. Lois M. Zook, 83, of Kenton, Ohio, formerly of Middleburg, Pa., died at 12:52 p.m. Friday, March 8, 2019, at her residence.
She was born July 24, 1935, in New Holland, Pa., a daughter of the late Paul and Anna Mary (Everly) Martin. On Oct. 4, 1958, she married John Mark Zook who preceded her in death on Oct. 1, 2015.
Surviving are her seven children, Marlene Zook of Andros, Bahamas, Timothy (Jewel) Zook of Kemp, Texas, Joshua (Azalea) Zook of Kenton, David (Crystal) Zook of Middleburg, Stephen (Judy) Zook of Eldon, Mo., Sharon (Dale) Faus of Sunbury, Pa., and Charity Zook of Manheim, Pa.; six step-siblings, Irvin (Esther) Weaver of Ephrata, Pa., Luke (Arlene) Weaver of Ephrata, Pa., Thelma (Nelson) Hershey of Mountville, Pa., Edith (Paul) Gehman of Ephrata, Pa., Lloyd (Naomi) Weaver of Farmersville, Pa., and Rosene (Leonard) Martin of Red Run, Pa.; 39 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one great-granddaughter, Kelsey Martin; three stepbrothers, Raymond, Charles, and Emory Weaver; and two stepsisters, Miriam Weaver and Pearly Eberly.
Friends and family are invited to a viewing from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 14, at the Hartleton Mennonite Church, 418 Laurel Road, Millmont, Pa., where the funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, March 15, with the church ministry officiating.
Burial will follow in the adjoining church cemetery.

Zook, Simon P.
December 10, 1927 - February 7, 2019
Simon P. Zook, 91, of Goshen, died at 5:30 pm on Thursday, February 7, at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne, after suffering a stroke two days prior. He was born on December 10, 1927, in Meyersdale, PA, to John and Tillie (Kinsinger) Zook. On October 23, 1949, in Elkhart County, he married Verna I. Graber; she survives.
Survivors in addition to his wife are son, Larry Zook of Wolcottville; two grandchildren, Stacy (Jason) Hanaway and Travis (Sarah) Zook; five great-grandchildren, Wyatt and Keenan Hanaway, Olivia, Spencer, and Allyson Zook; sister, Mary Emma (Henry) Brenneman of Grantsville, MD; three sisters-in-law, Marie Zook of Wakarusa, Donna Zook of Middlebury, Sara Zook of Goshen.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter-in-law, Dora Zook; sister, Elva Miller; five brothers, Henry, Noah, Wilmer, Raymond, and Paul Zook.
Simon and his wife were the owners of Zook Inc. and V & S Inc.
Visitation will be from 1:00 - 5:00 pm on Sunday, February 10 and 2:00 - 4:00 pm and 6:00 - 8:00 pm on Monday, February 11 at Fairhaven Mennonite Church, 13513 State Road 4, Goshen. Funeral services will be at 10:00 am on Tuesday, February 12 also at Fairhaven Mennonite Church. Services will be conducted by Pastor Gary Zook, Pastor Gary Burkholder, and Pastor Terry Gunderman. Burial will be in Thomas Cemetery, Goshen. Memorials may be given to Faith Mission or World Missionary Press.
